- During class, when the instructor is speaking or demonstrating techniques, every student must pay attention and keep a respectful posture.
- Talking should be kept to a minimum level and related to the class subject. We discuss training, we discuss ideas, we discuss technique and we elevate each other. We do not discuss people.

- Self-control and good sportsmanship are mandatory. There is a mutual benefit as these behaviors optimize your training and build a strong sense of team.
- It is the privilege and the responsibility of the advanced students to be role models and maintain discipline at all times. Everyone should strive to be a positive example. Carry yourself with class, integrity and respect, as you do not have to be a Black Belt to carry yourself as one.

- During training, if you are at risk of being injured or a position is hurting you either say TAP or firmly TAP your partner to indicate to your partner to immediately stop applying any technique or pressure.

- During rolling all new students or students with injuries have the option of sitting and observing.
- Exercise belt appropriate moves unless otherwise agreed upon and approved by an instructor.
- No rapid display of technique allowed unless approved by an instructor.
- Be humble before, during and after rolling/sparring. No celebrating or showboating

- Please keep on drilling, training or rolling until you are told by the instructor to stop.
- Sparring rules are in accordance with SJJIF Rules and can be referenced at www.sjjif.org.
- Knowledge and techniques learned are to be used in daily practice, competition and as a last resort in self-defense. Inappropriate behavior such as street fights, bullying, etc. will not be tolerated and will result in student(s) termination.
- If for some reason a student finds it necessary to take leave, break or discontinue their training, protocol dictates that the student must submit a letter of intent to leave the team.
